Sparkling Apple Cider

Nothing is more iconic in the fall than some sparkling apple cider. This recipe has only 3 ingredients and with some patience, you’ll have sparkling apple cider!

The key ingredient is an active ginger bug. This will kickstart the fermentation process and that’s what makes your soda fizzy. By keeping the fermentation time short, just 1-2 days, it creates a smooth carbonation that has the best flavor and taste.

Ingredients

3.5 cups of apple cider or apple juice

1/3 cup active ginger bug

juice of 1/2 lemon

Instructions

  1. Add all of the ingredients into a swing top bottle.
  2. Let it ferment at room temperature for 1-3 days. Fermentation will happen quickly with fresh juice. When you see some bubbles on the surface, fermenation is done.
  3. Chill before serving. Garnish with some apple slices and enjoy!
